TEATRO COMUNALE OF BOCCHEGGIANO

Located at the entrance of Boccheggiano, the mining center of the Town of Montieri, the building was constructed by Montecatini Society in 1927 as a recreational center for its employees. The structure presents an interesting design , typical of the modern architecture of the fascist era, which represents an eagle with open wings.
The core structure design is interesting as the facade leads into the main longitudinal axis which is the theatre space. On the sides of the main theatre space there are rooms reserved for social life.

The theatre, originally owned by the Solmine Company, was managed by the Association Pro Loco of Boccheggiano up to the end of 1980. Afterwards it became property of the Town and was restored in 1994/95 by the engineer Faccendi.
