MOTUS is resident company of Siena Municipal Theatre, is supported by the Region of Tuscany and Siena City and it is recognised as social welfare body by Siena Province Administration.
The Company MOTUS began the Piccolo Teatro of Siena, developing from an idea of Simona Cieri, dancer and coreographer, trained as ballet dancer and afterwards interested in modern, jazz and contemporary forms of expression.

MOTUS company is touring through the biggest Italian and international Theatres, partecipating to prestigous international festivals.The company's work is well known in many countries (USA, Spain, Holland, Greece, Romania, Bosnia Erzegovina) and has won international recognisements (TEATARFEST 2006, 2008 Prizes)
The company, characterised of a rich repertory of collaborations with other authors and artists, has embraced a research of a new language of gestures directed to issues with social impact. We can define this research with a french word: "engagé", intended as ethical and social committement, interested in different arts (poetry, images, video, sculture, symbols and irony) as means of expression.
The coreography style is original and rich of contaminations. Defined as dance or contemporary art, the work of MOTUS has a strong emotional and theatrical impact.
