COORDINATOR OF THE PROJECT "MIGRANT WOMEN"

In 2003 the Cultural Association "Il Grifo e il Leone" started the restoration and the conversion of a 400 square meter antique basement of the sixteenth century structure of the Ex- Conservatory of San Girolamo, located in the heart of the historical centre of Montepulciano, Siena province (Italy).
ilCAntinonearte Teatri, a non conventional theatre and exhibition space, created out of the restored building, opened officially to the public in January 2005. IlCAntinonearte Teatri is a cultural project promoting training, creation,experimentation and production of theatre, dance, music, visual arts works, with a particular attention to contemporary arts and to the creativity of the younger generation.

In 2005, ilCAntinonearte Teatri stipulated an agreement with Montepulciano Town Council for the use of the building for cultural multidisciplinary initiatives.
Since 2006, ilCAntinonearte Teatri is legally recognised by the Region of Tuscany and is a member of the independent theatre network "Libero Circuito", promoted by the Region, through "Sipario aperto", by the Province of Siena and Grosseto and the Towns of the theatres involved in the network.
In 2006 ilCAntinonearte Teatri was awarded the certificate of "European Ambassador" by the European Union and received a special mention in the DOCUP 2000-2006 Prize for the restoration investment.
