Born in Rome in 1958. claudio
During Universty, Claudio Borgoni has collaborated with a group of cinema research for the making of a series of short films and documentaries. He has actively and directly partecipated to all the production specific phases.
In the same period Claudio Borgoni worked at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Cinematography Centre) , in Cinecittà, as research fellow in charge of the realisation of an Analityc Index for the "Bianco e Nero" (Black and White) review.

After University Claudio Borgoni continued his cinematography experience directing two short films and a film "La scoperta di Martina" (Martina's Dicovery), shown at the Torino Young Film Festival.
His interest started to move towards experimental theatre. He realised three performances for il Teatro dell'Orologio and the Argot Studio in Rome and joined acting and theatre classes, in particular a two years acting course held by Dominic De Fazio from the NY Actor Studio.

Claudio Borgoni's interest for visual creativity keeped developing throughout a collaboration with Italian advertising and publishing agencies.

In 1991 Claudio moved from Rome to Montepulciano (Siena) and in 1992 he founded the Cultural Association "il Grifo e il Leone".
He has also partecipated to the prestigious Festival Cantiere Internazionale D'Arte of Montepulciano as director of numerous productions and as part of the board of directors. Within the festival he directed two operas: "Elisir d'amore" and "Le nozze di figaro".

Between 1999 and 2002 Claudio Borgoni, with the Cultural Association "Il Grifo e il Leone", has created a theatre and music festival (Magica Terra - Magic Earth) located inside of historical private and public buildings of Montepulciano, in collaboration with national and international artists.

In 2003, with the Cultural Association"Il Grifo e il Leone", he commits to the restoration of a XVI th Century building. It opened in 2005 to the public as ilCAntinonearte Teatri, a theatre and exhibition space.
As Artistic Director of ilCAntionearte Teatri Claudio Borgoni organises theatre, dance, music events, exhibitions, cinema reviews, seminars, workshops.
Claudio Borgoni is the director of the Theatre Company CAT.
